Dune Handbag & Shoes Cake: my artistic pain to produce this cake! Getting new visitors to my website is one of my priorities and it’s not easy; so any free publicity is welcomed.I got a call one day from my adviser at The Olive Grows, who are the best people to go to if you are starting or growing a food business. There was a journalist alert for new and interesting products for the “Dune Loves” section of the Dune website.Well this was right up my “handbags and shoe cakes” street so we made contact and they asked if I could make a bespoke cake using their new evening wear designs.Two months later and here is the designer teatime cake, taking pride of place on their website. Producing this cake of art was a challenge, as I had to replicate the shoe exactly from the website images and so make up new templates. But as usual with all the celebration cakes I make, I was not daunted by the challenge and got myself organised well in advance to make sure I met my deadline. Everything was going really well, but the night before at approximately 8pm when I thought I was finished, the heel decided to break. What was I to do?! Well failure was not an option... keep on trying! So I made the icing heel again and left the rest of the shoe standing by itself! I just hoped I had enough time for the new heel to set and to my amazement it was good to go by morning. Wow! They loved the design and devoured the cake!!! |

 The Mahogany Bridal Fashion Show Europe's only bridal fashion show for African Caribbean brides and grooms, and family members will be returning for its 14th year on Sunday 20th March 2011 @ the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, London.

Handbag and Shoes Cakes Inspiration taken from Stephen Benison Cake Artistry www.sugar-artistry.co.uk Shoes designed and handcrafted from sugarpaste by Designerart Cakes The actual size of the shoes is a three larger than the average size shoe on a cake. When I first started designing shoes I was told by clients they were not high enough, then I was told they did not look trendy enough. Hence I started this project and now can produce trendy stylish shoes large enough to fit your feet! To order a shoe cake please give one weeks notice that is how long it takes for a shoe to dry out! |

Handbag and shoes Birthday Cake Leopard Print Shoes with Leopard Print Box This cake was presented to to the Networking Fundraiser for Young Women on Sat 22nd Jan 2011. The objective of the evening was to raise funds for a young lady who has seized the opportunity to work in America with young people to further her career. For all who attended the afternoon was encouraging and inspirational The cake was raffled and won by a lady who took off her shoes to make sure her feet would fit the size three handcrafted tiger print shoe made from edible paper and sugarpaste. This is the first attempt of producing a life like size 3 shoe with 4" inch heel, the shoe took about a week to dry out! |
